He took piano lessons at age 8 from his aunt. After almost a year of lessons she said he was wasting her time. So he quit. He then picked it up again at the age of 17 playing mostly by ear. His professional career began when he recorded his first CD titled Sign of Affection which was discovered by Richard Paul Evans who commissioned Paulto do a CD inspired by his #1 NY Times Best-Selling book, The Christmas Box. Paul signed a multi-album deal with Virgin Records in 1999 making his music available world-wide. Asia s popular new age record label Orange Music and Europe s Instrumental Christian label San Pablo Music both partnered with Paul in 2003 marketing his music throughout Asia and Europe. The Chicago Sun Times called his music, Wonderfully moving and inspiring. The Washington Post said, Simply beautiful. In September 2005 Paul released a new cd called Primary Worship inspired by the songs he learned to love as a child while attending Primary. The album debuted at #12 on the internationally renowned Billboard Magazine top 25 New Age Chart and spent 11 weeks on that chart. However, Paul claims his most rewarding success came when, families of victims in the Oklahoma City Bombing requested the music be played during the memorial ceremonies as families placed flowers on the empty chairs representing their lost loved one. At the age of 14, David moved to Nashville with his family and continued his musical training with a broader approach, incorporating jazz and developing his improvisational skills. David began composing contemplative instrumental piano music and performing with rock bands while in high school. In 1993, David began performing with folk artist Peter Breinholt at sold-out concerts throughout the United States. After recording several albums with Breinholt, David recorded his first CD of original compositions, Mendham, inspired by memories of the natural beauties of his childhood home. His second album, Stories in the Sky, containing songs influenced by poetry, travel, and family, was released the following year. David s Christmas album, Holiday, and inspirational album, Sacred, has found distribution throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. David s newest release, In Reverence, combines uplifting original compositions with peaceful arrangements of Christian hymns. For current discography and other information about David Tolk, visit 20

Jon¹s credits include many albums and his wildly popular volumes of his original piano songbooks, performances and radio play all over the country, a televised concert on a local PBS station and A Jon Schmidt Christmas which has fast become a successful yearly Christmas tradition along Utah s Wasatch Front. Jon was inspired by the early albums of Mannheim Steamroller and Billy Joel. Because of them, I took license to blatantly mix elements from my classical piano training with rock and roll. he said. Judging from the remarkable diversity in the age and background of a typical Jon Schmidt audience, his show amazingly seems to appeal to everyone. After the airing of the PBS televised concert, hundreds of messages were left on KUED s viewer line with comments such as I couldn t turn it off and one of the most incredible hours I ve spent on a Saturday night in a long time.
