Perko Po w ermatic, conforms to Po w er Size 3 of Controlled Door Closing Device Standard BS EN1154:1997 w hen the po w er latching action is set to maximum. Turn adjuster scre w fully to positive (+) as explained in 9. Closer must be fitted no more than 750mm/30 from floor and within 300mm/12 of a hinge. Closer and plates should be bedded in Alfacryl FR Intumescent Acrylic M astic availa ble from Samuel Heath. Fig mm / 12 MAX 2 TEMPLATE POSITIONING Ensure door is plumb, hinges are free, and that timber is sound. Take template provided and fold along center line. O pen door to 90º. Secure template to door edge and frame edge within 300mm/12 of a hinge ensuring the center line is central in line with the pivot point of the hinge. Se e Fi g. 2 Repeat this vertical line onto the frame side at the same distance from centre line. A t each point on the template w here the vertical lines cross the horizontal dotted lines mark through the template using a brada wl into the door edge and frame edge to est a blish drilling points. Remove template RETAIN FOR REFERENCE. Note: Door can no w be removed from frame to assist drilling if preferred.

4 To achieve a maximum opening angle of 105º the centre of the closer must be no more than 35mm/1 3 /8 from the pivot point of the hinge. Drill 4 x 28mm/1 1 /8 Ø holes x30mm/1 5 /16 deep to accept frame plate assembly as indicated on template. Drill 2 x 28mm/1 1 /8 Ø holes x5mm deep to accept frame plate ends. Remove excess timber bet w een drilled holes to accommodate frame plate. Drill 4 x 26mm/1 1 /16 Ø x 185mm/7 5 /16 deep holes to accept closer body as indicated on the template. Drill 2 x 28mm/1 1 /8 Ø holes x5mm to accept door plate ends. Remove excess timber bet w een drilled holes to accept the closer body and door plate.

Insert extractor bolt (E) into position and rotate clock wise until holes in link rods appear. Generally for thicker doors expose both holes on each rod. Insert the allen keys (C) through both top and bottom link rod holes. B o t h a ll e n k e ys m ust b e c o rre c t ly l o c a t e d. Re move extractor bolt. Secure door plate to door with six scre ws (D). IMPORTA NT With composite doors and door linings it is essential to drill pilot holes Ø 3 /32 (2.5mm) to suit fixing scre ws.

7 7 8 ADJUSTMENT - POWER POWER + LATCHING ACTION LATCHING ACTION - + POWERMATIC POWERMATIC PATENTS APPLIED FOR PATENTS APPLIED FOR With the closer secure and no w held open by allen keys, if necessary firmly push both link rods across door plate and offer frame plate into frame void. Secure with six scre ws (D). O pen door slightly and remove allen keys. Installation is no w complete. Remove dust cap. Use one of the allen keys (C) to adjust closing speed. Positive (+) increases door speed. Negative (-) reduces door speed, as indicated on door plate.

Loosen locking scre w using allen key (F) to allo w the adjuster scre w to turn. Positive (+) increases the angle at w hich latching action engages.
