Entries can be backed up with photographic and video evidence. The portfolio is a testimony to work done. It is reviewed by the TY Team at Christmas. It is accessed by the TY Team in May.

ESRI Report - On average, students who take part in Transition Year achieve higher Leaving Certificate exam grades and are more likely to go on to higher education than nonparticipants. ESRI Report - Students feel that Transition Year exposes them to different experiences, providing a 'break' after studying for the Junior Certificate and making them more mature.

16 Transition Year, it s relevancy and worth depend very much on the personal commitment of all stakeholders, students, teachers and parents! What you put into this course you will benefit from all through your academic career both in this school and at third level. Once you join Transition Year, you must from the outset, participate to the best of your ability. You need to think outside the box - view school through a different lens - and make the transition from Junior Level Student to Young Adult Learner.
