J is adding liquidated damages to section 7 of this solicitation. Please see below. 7.3 LIQUIT MS UNTIL PTN If the ompany fails to obtain J's cceptance and inal ompletion of the Work on or before 20 days after date of Notice to Proceed, the ompany shall pay J the sum of $ per day for each and every calendar day, including Sundays and Holidays, starting on the day the Work was deemed by J to be Substantially omplete until the date the Work is ccepted by J. Liquidated amages are capped at a maximum of ten percent (0%) of the ontract Price. The ompany understands and agrees that said daily sum is to be paid not as a penalty, but as compensation to J as a fixed and reasonable liquidated damages for losses that J will suffer because of such default, whether through increased administrative and engineering costs, interference with J's normal operations, other tangible and intangible costs, or otherwise, which costs will be impossible or impractical to measure or ascertain with any reasonable specificity. Liquidated damages may, at J's sole discretion, be deducted from any monies held by J that are otherwise payable to ompany. The ompany's responsibility for liquidated damages shall in no way relieve the ompany of any other obligations under the ontract. 2. 2 nswer: J is obtaining permits from lorida epartment of nvironmental Protection and Nassau ounty for the project. No permitting costs are due by the contractor. 3. J is providing an updated drawing, please refer to file 0997 ddendum 2 0 rawing. Information requested from the Nassau ounty epartment of Planning and conomic Opportunity has been added to the drawing; vegetative buffer, existing tree line, project area tabulation and Note 5. One () additional tree was added to clear, grub and strip. 4. Question: R: b Is it the intent of this specification that the ontractor furnish and use selfrecording thermometers in all concrete slabs? nswer: No, selfrecording temperature monitors will only be required if hot weather concreting conditions exist for slab pours. 5. Question: R: Please clarify if class can be used for pipe encasement. nswer: It is acceptable to use lass concrete for the project's pipe encasements. 6. Question: Will there be any painting or coatings required on this project? nswer: This question is very broad. There are multiple references to coatings throughout the contract documents. The following response relates to the coatings required for piping, valves, and the proposed ground storage tank. If there is a question related to whether specific items in the design are to be coated, please identify these items with an additional bid question. This response does not relieve the contractor from providing all coatings required by the contract documents. eneral Note #5 on rawing 002 indicates the required interior lining and buried exterior coating required for ductile iron pipe and fittings. galvanized coating and liner are required for the proposed ground storage tank per Section xterior coating for above grade piping and fittings shall be provided. M0, Note 6 is added as follows: "ll above grade ductile iron pipe and fittings shall be coated with a zinc/epoxy/polyurethane coating system. Prime oat: Zinc prime coat shall be selfcuring, two (2) component inorganic zinc prime coat which is recommended by the manufacturer for overcoating with a high build epoxy coating. Zinc prime coat shall be applied to a thickness of 3 mils T. cceptable products: arboline arbozinc, Tnemec 9097, Shermin Williams Zinc lad, or equal. Question: an you supply the dimensions for the center line point to the inside tank wall on the overflow, fill, drain, and suction pipes coming from the bottom of the tank? nswer: The centerline of all the pipelines entering and leaving the ST is 5'0" offset from the tank wall. They are 2'0" from the centerline of the tank. revised rawing M0 has been issued with this ddendum. 8. Question: Per section , in paragraph.07,. It requires the contractor to install a weather station. ould you please provide more detailed information on what type or if this is actually needed, etc.? nswer: remote weather monitoring station is not required for this project. Specification Section , Part.07...a is eliminated. 9.
