4 G ET T I NG S T A R T ED NO T E Install batteries in the remote sensors before the base station matching the polarities (+ and -). NO T E Use alkaline batteries for longer usage and consumer grade lithium batteries in temperatures below freezing. S ET U P R E O T E W I ND S S O R The wind sensor takes wind speed and direction readings. The sensor is battery operated. It is capable of transmitting data to the base station wirelessly within an approximate operating range of 00 meters (8 feet). T o i n s e r t b a t t e r i e s :. Remove the fibre tape. S ET U P B A S E S T A T I O N NO T E Install batteries in the remote sensors before the base station matching the polarities (+ and -).. Unscrew the anemometer from the wind sensor carefully.. Insert batteries matching the polarities (+ / -) and replace the anemometer. T o s e t u p t h e r e m o t e s e n s o r :. Slide open the battery door.. Slide channel switch to select a channel (//). Use a different channel for each sensor.. Insert the batteries, matching the polarities (+ / -).. Close the battery door. S ET U P R A I N G A U G E The rain gauge collects rain and takes rainfall readings. The sensor can remotely transmit data to the base station. T o s e t u p t h e r a i n g a u g e : For continuous use, please install the AC adaptor. The batteries are for back-up use only. H I I NO T E ake sure the adaptor is not obstructed and is easily accessible to the unit. NO T E The base station and adaptor should not be exposed to wet conditions. Slide open the battery door.. Insert the batteries, matching the polarities (+ / -).. Close the battery door.. Remove screws and slide the cover off in an upwards motion.. Insert the batteries ( x U- / AA), matching the polarities (+ / -). NO T E Do not use rechargeable batteries. It is recommended that you use alkaline batteries with this product for longer performance. NO T E Batteries should not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine or fire.

I P O R T A NT ake sure the wind sensor points to north in order to record accurate readings. T E P ER A T U R E / H U I D I T Y S S O R ake sure the temperature/humidity sensor is connected to the base station before installation. T o c h e c k t h e c o n n e c t i o n : Press S EL EC T until the selected area icon is in the top right display area. Wind speed: Gently rotate the wind vane and confirm a numerical reading on the base station, e.g.. Wind direction indicator. ove the direction of the wind indication and verify the icon moves in the same direction. The sensor should be positioned in an open area away from trees or other obstructions. T o c h e c k t h e c o n n e c t i o n :. Press S EL EC T until the selected area icon is in the bottom left display area.. Press U P / D O W N to select channel and verify a numerical reading. T o i n s t a l l t h e t e m p e r a t u r e / h u m i d i t y s e n T o i n s t a l l t h e w i n d s e n s o r : a b.5 m (5 ft) Secure the sensor connector in the desired location: a. Align the back of the sensor connector to an existing pole. Secure in place by inserting the ends of the U-bolt into the holes on the sensor connector and securing it with washers and bolts. OR T I P Ideal placements for the sensor would be in any location on the exterior of the home at a height of not more than.5 meters (5 feet) and which can shield it from direct sunlight or wet conditions for an accurate reading. 5

6 Secure the sensor in the desired location using the wall mount bracket or table stand. R A I N G A U G E The base station and rain gauge should be positioned within an effective range: about 00 meters (8 feet) in an open area. The rain gauge should be mounted horizontally about meter ( feet) from the ground in an open area away from trees or other obstructions to allow rain to fall naturally for an accurate reading. ake sure the rain gauge is connected to the base station before installation. T o c h e c k t h e c o n n e c t i o n :. Press S EL EC T until the selected area icon is in the middle right display area.. Press O D E repeatedly until displays.. Tilt the tipping funnel on the rain gauge several times, wait for a few seconds and then verify a numerical reading on the base station. If no reading displays, press the S EA R C H button on the back of the base station to initiate a wireless sensor search. T o e n s u r e a l e v e l p l a n e : Put a few drops of water on the cross at the base of the funnel to check the horizontal level. NO T E For best results, ensure the base is horizontal to allow maximum drainage of any collected rain. T I P Press R ES ET button on back of the base station to erase all testing data. B A C K L I G H T Press L I G H T to activate the backlight for 5 seconds. C L O C K R EC EP T I O N This product is designed to synchronize its calendar clock automatically once it is brought within range of a radio signal: W R 8 9 : EU: DCF-77 signal: within 500 km (9 miles) of Frankfurt, Germany. UK: SF-60 signal: within 500 km (9 miles) of Anthorn, England. Slide the EU/UK switch to the appropriate setting based on your location. Press R ES ET whenever you change the selected setting. W R 8 9 A : WWVB-60 signal: within 00 km (000 miles) of Fort Collins Colorado. The reception icon will blink when it is searching for a signal. If the radio signal is weak it can take up to hours to get a valid signal reception. indicates the status of the clock reception signal. I C O N EA NI NG Time is synchronized. Receiving signal is strong. Time is not synchronized. Receiving signal is weak. NO T E For best reception, place the base station on a flat, non-metallic surface near a window in an upper floor of your home. Place the antenna away from electrical appliances do not move the antenna when searching for a signal.

Repeat steps to set the time zone offset hour (+/- hours), / hour format, hour, minute, year, date/month format, month, date, weekday language and hemisphere option for moon phase. Time zone offset sets the clock +/- hours from the received clock signal time. If you have deactivated the clock signal reception, do not set a value for time zone. NO T E If you enter + in the time zone setting, the clock displays hour ahead of your set regional time. If you are in the US (WR89A only) set the clock to: P A for Pacific time O for ountain time C E for Central time EA for Eastern time A U T O S C A NNI NG F U NC T I O N T o a c t i v a t e t h e o u t d o o r t e m p e r a t u r e a a u t o - s c a n f u n c t i o n : Outdoor temperature reading in the or Humidity area.. The station is capable of storing and displaying the hourly history data for the last 0 hours of UV index, and hours of rainfall and barometric pressure readings. 9 The number shown in the horizontal axis (Hr) indicates how long ago each measurement was taken (e.g. hours ago, 6 hours ago, etc.). The bar represents the measurement taken for that specific hour period. E.g., if it is 0:0 pm now, the bar plotted directly above - shows the reading recorded from 9 to 0 pm and -6 shows the reading recorded earlier in the evening, between pm-5pm.. If the current time is :0 am, the screen displays when reviewing the history before :00 am.
