He was typing into the computer but could have looked over at me every once in a while. It was disconcerting to have so little eye contact. Eventually he became warmer and it felt more personal, but at the beginning I felt put off by his "coldness." J U N E Dr. Shepard was very thorough and communicative about the treatment plan for my condition. I am glad that I finally got some answers and a treatment plant, along with hope that my condition will improve! A U G U S T Dr. Shepard has been most supportive during my difficult diagnosis years ago and through follow-up visits. His patience and availability to answer questions I had either during office hours or via phone after hours is appreciated. I have recommended Dr. Shepard to others and will continue to do so as I feel he is the best. A U G U S T very good doctor A U G U S T I came to NW after 18 months of terrible experiences with 3 different neuros at another hospital. Dr. Shepard was like a godsend. He is the first neuro I've met with who made me feel like he actually cares about what happens to me and is up to speed on new treatments for MS. I have a whole new outlook on my future. A U G U S T Dr. Shepard is great. He listens to my concerns and cares about my well being. He gives his feedback and suggestions. What I like most about Dr. Shepard is he doesn't seem to be in a rush to get me in and out of the appointment. 5 wasn't bad, I just would have liked more discussion and explanation of what's really going on. But that's just me and I do think I'm far on the continuum of wanting more info. I had gotten his name from the internet so had no expectations regarding his care. He listened, follow through calling my primary care doctor. He spent 15 minutes with my doctor discussing what to do to eliminate the rushing sound in my ears, The room was clean and up to Northwestern standards.

I expressed concerns about the side effects of one medication and he wasn't able to provide any suggestions or alternative therapies and/or medications. While I believe that he is a good doctor, this is a frustrating result as migraines affect a good portion of my life. M A R C H I am pleased with this doctor. A U G U S T My only request would be is for Dr. Shepard not to check his phone several times during a visit. He was receiving multiple text messages and would be looking at his phone while speaking to me. He seemed distracted. I have confidence in his knowledge but when you are attending to a patient you should give them your undivided attention. A U G U S T Dr. Shepard is great, but my limited knowledge compared to his extensive knowledge leaves my head spinning a bit when I leave. However, when I think of all of my questions after the fact, he's very responsive and helpful via MyChart. S E P T E M B E R Dr. Shepard is excellent, I feel very blessed to have a provider that understands my condition, is involved in latest treatment and is truly vested in helping me manage my health. S E P T E M B E R I used to have very high marks for this doctor, however, his lack of concern and engagement on this visit has me seeking a second opinion as I do not feel confident he even paid attention to what my concerns were.
