Sunapee State Park, NH 58 Minutes Mount Sunapee State Park is a major recreation area in the Dartmouth-Lake Sunapee Region offering year-round activities. In the winter, alpine skiing is available at Mt. Sunapee Resort, owned by the state of New Hampshire and managed by the Okemo Mountain Resort. The 4,085 acre lake at Mt.Sunapee State Park Beach is an ideal spot for family and group outings. A boat launch is available with some restrictions. Boat rentals are available. 15 Area Information Page 2 Lakes, Brooks & Ponds Black River 5 Minutes The Black River along Route 131 east of Cavendish offers some of Vermont s best trout terrain with ease of access and parking areas. The area is designated as a Trophy Trout Stream and restricted to artificial lures or flies only. The so called Ludlow Lakes located on Route 100 north produce rainbows and lake trout in good numbers. Knapp Brook 12 Minutes Knapp Brook is part of the larger Cavendish Management Unit which also includes Lord State Forest and Proctor-Pieper State Forest. Common fish and wildlife include white-tailed deer, black bear, beaver gray tree frogs, salamander and more. The ponds are stocked with rainbow and brook trout. Link: Stoughton Pond 19 Minutes The 65-acre Stoughton Pond is stocked with rainbow trout and has a boat ramp and a five-mileper-hour speed limit. Trout and smallmouth bass are available in the rivers. Stoughton Pond Recreation Area features a swimming area and picnic sites. Restrooms, a change house, picnic tables, grills, and drinking water are available in the area. A picnic shelter can be reserved for a small fee. Hunting, fishing, trapping, and snowmobiling are permitted with applicable licenses and permits and in accordance with state and federal regulations. Link: Connecticut River 30 Minutes The Connecticut River is the longest river in the New England region. One way to access to the river is through Wilgus State Park. This park provides day use access to the Connecticut River and the Pinnacle Trail hike provides a scenic vista of the Connecticut River Valley. Skiing and Snowmobiling VAST Trails Corridor 12 is roughly 1.5 miles west of proeprty. Check VAST website for more information. Okemo Mt. Resort 19 Minutes Rising above the village of Ludlow, in south-central Vermont, Okemo Mountain Resort is a four-season playground that built its reputation for quality and superior guest service as a winter r e t r e a t f o r s k i e r s a n d snowboarders.
