Requirements of Ambient Condition The ambient temperature in which measurements are being taken shall be maintained at 25 ± with IES LM It was measured at a point not more than m from the SSL product and at the same height as the SSL product. Air flow around the SSL product being tested should be such that normal convective air flow induced by device under test is not affected. 4.2 Seasoning of SSL Product For the purpose of rating new SSL products, SSL products shall be tested with no seasoning with IES LM Stabilization of SSL Product Before measurements are taken, the SSL product under test shall be operated long enough to reach stabilization and temperature equilibrium with IES LM The time required for stabilization depends on the type of SSL products under test. The stabilization time typically ranges from 30 minutes to 2 or more hours for SSL product. It can be judged that stability is reached when the variation (maximum minimum) of at least 3 readings of the light output and electrical power over a period of 30 minutes, taken 5 minutes apart, is less than 0.5%. 4.4 Photometric and Electrical Measurements - Sphere-spectroradiometer Method A Spectroradiometer and a 2m Integrating Sphere were used to measure total luminous flux, correlated color temperature, color rendering index, and chromaticity coordinates for each sample. The 4 geometry, shown as chart (a), is used for measurement. Ambient temperature was measured at a position inside the integrating sphere. Electrical measurements including input voltage, input current, and input power were measured using the Digital Power Meter. 4.5 Photometric and Electrical Measurements - Goniophotometer Method An EVERFINE Type C Model GO-R5000 Goniophotometer was used to measure the intensity at each angle of distribution for each sample. The photometric distance is 2.m for near-field measurement or 26m for far-field measurement. Ambient temperature was measured at the same height of the sample mounted on the Goniophotometer equipment. Electrical measurements including input voltage, input current, and input power were measured using the Digital Power Meter. Some graphics were created with Photometric Plus software.
8 Report No.: EED35I Page 7 of 6 (a) (b) 4.6 Color Angular Uniformity The characteristics of SSL products may be spatially non-uniform, the chromaticity coordinate shall be measured at two vertical planes (C=0 /80 and C=90 /270 ) and at 0 or less intervals for vertical angle until the light output dropped to below 0% of the peak intensity. The averaged weighted chromaticity coordinate was calculated from these points. The data was then analyzed to check for delta color differences of the u', v' chromaticity coordinates. The spatial non-uniformity of chromaticity, u'v', is determined as the maximum deviation (distance on the CIE (u', v') diagram) among all measured points from the spatially averaged chromaticity coordinate. The geometry for the chromaticity measurement using gonio-spectroradiometer is shown as chart (b). 4.7 LED Operating Frequency Sample shall be operating at without dimmer, with dimmer at maximum light output level and minimum light output level. LED Operating frequency of sample for these three modes should be measured while stabilization is reached. LED operating frequency wave form was measured with faster speed photometer, which shall be suitably designed to capture the waveform. Digitized waveform data was be recorded. Measured data shall be recorded to a digital file with an interval between each measurement no greater than sec (50 microseconds) corresponding to an equipment measurement rate of no less than 20kHz, and capture at least second of data. 4.8 Transient Protection The transient protection tests were performed on one sample per model. Sample was operated at 20V AC, 60Hz during the tests. A ring wave generator with a 00 khz ring wave module and coupler/decoupler module was used to generate the 2500 volt ring wave transient strike across the contacts. Seven strikes were performed on each sample in accordance with ANSI/IEEE C (Category A): Recommended Practice on Surge Voltage in Low Voltage AC Circuits.
9 Report No.: EED35I Page 8 of Noise Each test sample was operated at 20V AC, 60Hz prior to testing for sound. Microphone, Multi-Channel Analysis System, Thermo-Hygrometer and Sound Level Calibrator were used to measure the overall dba Sound Pressure Level (SPL) at a distance of meter. Measurement is conducted at front, rear, left, right, top and bottom positions. Test setup is shown as follows. 4.0 In-Situ Temperature Measurement Test (ISTMT) LED source operating temperature measurement and driver case temperature measurement were taken on one test sample per model with a thermocouple and Hybrid Recorder. The SSL sample was allowed to reach thermal equilibrium before measurements were taken. LED Source temperature was measured at the TMP LED as indicated by the included diagram in accordance with manufacturers declared hot spot location. The driver case temperature was measured at the TMP C as detailed by the driver manufacturer. The maximum temperature was recorded for the sample. 5 Test Results 5.
