2 Reactive Fluid Dynamics 2 1 目的 本 G-COE で対象とする大規模複雑力学系システムを取り扱うにあたって, 非線形力学の基本的な知識と応用展開力は不可欠である. そこで, 本講義では, 力学系の基礎からシステムまでの非線形性を共通の軸として講義を行う. 本講義を受講することにより, 受講者は非線形力学を様々な場面において, 有効に活用できるようになることを期待する.

9 Reactive Fluid Dynamics 9 4 Chaos, the definition Oxford English dictionary describes: chaos [keias] is a state of complete confusion and disorder. The chaos in the field of engineering: is the deterministic chaos the complicated behavior of dynamical system arising from a strictly deterministic time evolution without any source of noise or external stochasticity. In other words, the chaotic motion is not stochastic but deterministic. Thus, the chaotic motion can be traced and predicted no matter how the motion is complicated.
