The integrl of f(x) in [, b] is the number given by Slide 3 n f(x)dx = lim f(x n i ) x, i=0 if the limit exists. Given nturl number n we hve introduced prtition on [, b] given by x = (b )/n. We denoted x i = (x i + x i )/2, where x i = + i x, i = 0,,, n. This choice of the smple point x i is clled midpoint rule. An integrl is sum of infinite mny terms Continuous functions re integrble.
