Once the students have a mment t think independently, they will speak t their elbw partner t discuss their ideas, and finally the teacher will lead a classrm discussin. The teacher will then display this vide n the prjectr: Gelgy Kitchen: The 3 Types f Rcks: After the vide explain t the students that yu have put instructins fr a hme rck cking activity that they can d with their parents (fund here: Discuss hw we can shw ur learning in s many different ways (such as a cking lessn n rcks). Since we are finished ur Rcks and Minerals unit it is time t demnstrate ur learning, and fr this each student will chse hw they demnstrate their learning. 3 students. MIDDLE: Once the students have chsen their task frm the chice bard, they can begin planning hw they will cmplete that task. They will write ut a list f steps and have it apprved by the teacher befre beginning their task. Then begins prject time. Prject-Time Rutines: Each day students will wrk n their individual prject at their desk, r ask the teacher fr apprval t wrk in a different lcatin (fr example, while filming a vide) Students requiring laptps will sign ut their laptps frm the cart and bring them t their desks Students using laptps are respnsible fr saving their wrk, turning ff the laptp and returning it t the cart Students requiring ther materials (i.e. paper, markers, play-dh) will be respnsible t pick up and then clean up all f the materials they used each class The Librarian has checked ut several rcks an bks and put them in the classrm during this prject time, students may refer t the resurces in class During prject time the teacher will be meeting with each student individually t assess prgress and help answer questins The teacher will keep a daily tracking lg f each students prgress t help them sty n task t achieve their gals The learning gals and success criteria fr all tasks will be psted n the bulletin bard fr student reference At the end f each class, students will spend 5 minutes cleaning up and then they will meet with their elbw buddy t share what they have accmplished that day CONCLUSION: Once all f the prjects are cmpleted, the class will have a share-fair. During this share fair, students wh are presenting will be able t present t the class. Others wh are nt presenting will display their wrk arund the class and will have an pprtunity t view each ther s wrk and ask questins.
