4 Infiltration and slope response a soil-surface will allow infiltration to enter at a rate up to the saturated coefficient of permeability with respect to water (K sat ) and the remaining amount of rainwater will run off. (.., 2002;.., 2003; 2004;..) WRONG! the minimum infiltration rate from rainfall is the saturated hydraulic permeability of the soil surface and runoff does not occur unless the rainfall intensity exceeds the saturated permeability (.., 1998;.., 2001;..) WRONG! CODE- BRIGHT: A coupled THM computer code (DIT-UPC)

47 What I learned from Pampaneira The difficulty to integrate present knowledge on large scale global climate change into design solutions Slope stability risk in the context of engineering solutions require specific case-by-case analysis Geotechnical knowledge alone is often not capable of solving problems. In Pampaneira an integrated structural-geotechnical analysis was fundamental
