2 Introduction Welcome to the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. You can use this sensory map to identify sensory-friendly spaces within the Museum. Use this as a guide for finding spaces that tend to be quieter and less crowded, spaces with tactile engagement, and to avoid spaces that may cause sensory overload. Please keep in mind that as the Museum s buildings and exhibitions change, parts of this map may not always be up to date. 4 When to Visit Are you looking for: A quieter experience? Visit on a Monday or Tuesday, or any weekday during our quiet months (January February and October December). A busier experience? Visit on a rainy day, a weekend, or most weekdays during our busy months, March September. Please note we cannot always predict crowds in the Museum.
