The District has recently employed high/resolu1on seismic reflec1on techniques to explore the subsurface on the south/central Oxnard Plain and has ini1ated an extensive 1me domain electromagne1c (TDEM) survey program. The TDEM domain program was used to evaluate the areal extent of sea water intrusion on the South Oxnard Plain and provide addi1onal informa1on on subsurface condi1ons that may impact groundwater movement within the Oxnard Plain Forebay basin.ongoingtdemsurveystarget the more complicated geology associated with the Santa Paula/ Mound/Forebay basin boundary area, as well as the Forebay/Oxnard Plain and Mound/Forebay basin boundaries. The hydrostra1graphic conceptual model for the Oxnard Plain region has been revisited by loca1ng, digi1zing, and correla1ng several hundred borehole geophysicallogs.theselogsarea part of an in/house library that also contains driller s logs, water quality data, andsurfacegeophysicaldata SpeakerBiography Tony Morgan (PG, CHG) holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in Geology from Indiana UniversityandhasbeenwithUWCD since 2009; prior to that he was Western Region Manager for Layne Geosciences. During his career he has directed water supply development programs including groundwater explora1on, surface and borehole geophysical survey projects, well design and rehabilita1on tasks, as well as AquiferStorageandRecoveryfacility si1ng studies for municipal, industrial, and agricultural interests throughout the western U.S. The UWCD Groundwater Department is responsible for providing hydrogeological exper1se to assist the District in managing groundwater resources in eight basins. The department operates an extensive hydrologic data collec1on system that includes water level measurements (~400 wells), water quality sampling and analysis (~160 wells), and stream gauging on the SantaClaraRiverandassociated tributaries. The department also maintains and updates the regional groundwater flow model, performs field inves1ga1ons (e.g., surface geophysical surveys) to improve the District's understanding of the controls on groundwater flow, evaluates the impacts of groundwater u1liza1on and conserva1on op1ons on resource availabilityandservesasanin/house and County/wide resource on groundwater supply, water quality, and water resource management.
