1 6TH GRADE SOCIAL STUDIES I can compare historical issues involving rights, roles and statues of individuals. I can describe the relationships among specialization, division of labor, productivity of workers and interdependence among produces and consumers. I can make inferences about historical events and eras using historical maps and other historical sources. I can identify the differences between historical fact and interpretation. I can compare the political characteristics of Greek and Roman civilizations with non-western civilizations, including the early Han dynasty. I can identify causes and effects of the decline of the Roman empire and other major world political events between 500 CE and 1500 CE. I can identify causes and effects of European feudalism and the emergence of nation states between 500 CE and 1500 CE. I can describe major economic trends from 1000 to 1500 CE including trade, specialization of labor and technological progress. I can describe the economic systems and trade patterns of the Americas before the encounter with the Europeans. I can describe the various roles of men, women and children in the family, at work and in the community in various time periods and places.
