2 2 DEFINITION Student mobility is a measure of change in student membership from the first official membership count (September 8, 2014) through the last day of the school year. The mobility rate is expressed as the percent of a school's enrollment entering or reentering after September 8, 2014, or leaving school prior to the last day of the school year. Specific categories of mobility include the following membership codes: Entries E1 E2 R3 Students who have not entered a public school within the United States during the current school year. Students who have entered a public school in another state, but have not entered a public school in Virginia during the current school year. Students received from a public school in Virginia, but outside Fairfax County. Intra-county Transfers and Reentries R2 Students who transferred from one school to another school within Fairfax County. R4 Students reentering the same school after withdrawal during the current school year. Withdrawals W Students who leave a Fairfax County public school regardless of reason. County enrollments do not equal the sum of individual school's enrollments because of intra-county transfers. Students may be counted in enrollment in more than one school. Students are counted only once in county totals. Enrollment and mobility in special education and alternative education centers were excluded from the data in this report.
