Water master plan Objectives: The description of the water resources (surface and ground water plus alternative resources) in quantity and quality The description of the present and likely future development of water demands by different user sectors The presentation of the technical (physical) and operational water management measures to fulfil the demands 5 5
Water master plan Main outputs: Catchment and subcatchment delineation DTM with 10 m resolution Detail hydrography map in a scale 1:
CORINE Land cover Main goals: Establishment of a procedure of acquisition, standardization and exchange of environmental data Creation of a Geographic information System (GIS) with an aim for providing of environmental data essential for preparation and implementation of EU politics 7 7
8 CORINE Land Cover : Kilometers 8
DRIMPOL Project Joint research project between Albania, Macedonia and Norway. Objectives: Compilation of water quality long term datasets, Establishment of geodatabase with the following GIS layers: digital elevation model (DEM), subcatchments delineation, river network, etc. Quantification of nutrient loads with employment of TEOTIL 2 pollution budget model (Tjomsland and Bratli 1996; Selvik et al. 2004). Compilation of nutrient loss risk maps (nitrates and phosphates) 9 9
10 DRIMPOL project 10
Vine monitoring and management system - VMMS Main objectives: Establishment of a vineyard cadastre based on a relational database linked to a Geographic Information System, Establishment of sustainable system of declarations for permanent updating of vineyard cadastre Development of tools and procedures for random check and verification of input data, data flow and statistical analysis of the data collected 11 11

Study on Capacity Development for Soil Contamination Management related to Mining in Macedonia The project is being carried out in co-operation with the Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Water Economy (MAFWE) and is funded by Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The main objectives of the project are: - to carry out soil contamination survey of the pilot project in the Probistip area, - to develop a Master Plan for Soil contamination Management in Macedonia and - to develop the capacity in the relevant Ministries and institutions in Macedonia for implementation of the Master Plan. Master Plan: The Master Plan will take into account the results and methods of a pilotproject on soil contamination monitoring in Probistip. Period: January October Pilot Project site 14 pilot project in Probistip 14
DRIMNET Main objectives: Provide necessary information on nutrient and sediment loads into the lakes from the upstream Drim river catchment areas Assess past and present Ohrid and Presp lakes pollution Provide information on lake trophic status, with emphasis on nutrient and phytoplankton levels. Establish nutrient budgets for the lakes Assess response relationships in the lakes 15 15
