11 eg dimethylamine (cont d) Production: - 2 CH 3 OH + NH 3 (CH 3 ) 2 NH + 2 H 2 O (2 methanol + ammonia dimethylamine +2 water) Uses: - manufacture dimethylformamide / dimethylacetamide for production of some agrichemicals (eg dimefox)/ pharmaceuticals (eg diphenhydramine) - make tabun (ie a kind of nerve agent interfering w/ normal functioning of mammalian nervous system)
