4 0 HPLC COLUMNS AND RESINS Introduction A Word About HPLC Columns HAMILTON is one of the few companies that manufactures its own HPLC grade polymeric HPLC supports. We offer 6 polymeric packings for a complete range of HPLC applications, including reversed phase, anion exchange, cation exchange, ion exclusion and amino. For over 0 years HAMILTON polymeric HPLC columns have been solving problems no other columns could. Now we have introduced HxSil silica-based reversed phase C8 and C8 HPLC columns to complement our selection of polymer-based columns. At HAMILTON we believe that your separation requirements dictate the type of column needed. Whether it's a silica-based or polymerbased column we are ready to help. Contact us at hplc@hamilton.ch for expert technical assistance and FREE method development. HPLC Column Selection Made Easy! This brochure is organised so you can easily locate the product of interest. Columns are grouped by the separation mechanism (reversed phase, anion exchange, cation exchange, ion exclusion and amino). A few chromatograms are included to illustrate possible separations. A complete listing of HAMILTON HPLC applications and technical information can be found on the HAMILTON web site under Analytical, HPLC Columns and Resins at Longer Column Life HAMILTON is a pioneer in the development and manufacture of polymers for HPLC separations. These polymeric supports combine the inertness, durability and ph stability of polymeric resins with the pressure stability of silica-based materials. With HAMILTON polymeric HPLC columns you let your sample dictate the necessary separation conditions not the column. ph Stability Our polymeric HPLC columns are stable from ph 0 to. This allows the separation of ionic samples in their natural state where UV absorbance is typically stronger and the minimum level of detectability is improved. Additionally samples that are only stable or soluble at elevated ph can be separated. Better Sample Recovery HAMILTON polymeric HPLC columns do not contain acidic silanol groups as present on silica supports. This eliminates irreversible sample adsorption to the support, greatly improves sample recovery (greater than 9 % recovery of purified trityl-on DNA). Excellent Durability HAMILTON polymeric HPLC columns are compatible with 0 to 00 % organic or aqueous solvents, do not shrink or swell in different mobile phases, do not bleed bonded phases like silica-based supports. Consistent Performance We manufacture our polymeric supports from the respective monomer precursors. In doing so, we are able to control every aspect of the polymer's synthesis, sizing and eventual packing. With this control, we are able to ensure reproducible resin performance, batch after batch. Also HAMILTON's new HxSil silica-based reversed phase C8 and C8 HPLC columns are manufactured to provide reproducible retention of your compound. This is guaranteed by tight manufacturing controls and extensive characterisation of the base silica.
5 HPLC COLUMNS AND RESINS 0 Introduction HxSil Silica-Based Columns HAMILTON's new HxSil silica-based reversed phase C8 and C8 HPLC columns provide greater retention of compounds than other C8 and C8 columns. This allows you to separate compounds that are not adequately retained on other reversed phase columns. When you combine HxSil columns with our selection of polymer-based reversed phase columns you have a wide range of column retention selectivity and performance characteristics from which to choose. HPLC Column Packings A brief description of the HPLC columns is contained below. All column types except HxSil C8 and HxSil C8 are of polymeric nature. Visit the HAMILTON Application Index at myappindex.html or hplc@hamilton.ch for a complete list of compounds that have been separated.
