1 Multi Cultural 2010 Key dates from the world's main calendars Daily Moon phases & Zodiac Positions Times of New and s Cycles of the Sun & Planets True dates of Celtic Quarter days Solstices, Equinoxes and Eclipses Tune into the Moon Gardening with the Moon `
2 Welcome to the 20th year of the Astro Calendar This years calendar is again available as a free download to print yourself or save to view on your computer. Download it at where you will also find additions and amendments to this calendar, more about the true dates of the quarter days and other astrological information, birth charts and event timing. The TUNE INTO THE MOON guide and the LUNAR GARDENING guide are on the last page Two Zodiacs? The Sidereal (or star) zodiac is based on the constellations as they are, whereas the Tropical (or symbolic) zodiac uses the constellation positions as they used to be. This Sidereal zodiac is used by Vedic astrologers, a small minority of western astrologers, by biodynamic gardeners and astronomers and navigators (in conjunction with the tropical zodiac). Astrologers that use this method are usually more event orientated than person orientated. Most western astrologers including myself use the Tropical zodiac. Dane Rudhyar the most important astrologer of the 20th century wrote that the Sidereal zodiac, the zodiac of constellations, was a product of the myth-making faculty of the human psyche. That these constellations, groupings of stars, are a remnant of an earlier age that saw the rise of agriculture, but they are not relevant to modern life. He felt it was unfortunate that both zodiacs use the same names for their 12-fold division of the yearly circle, and he regarded the Tropical zodiac as being the proper framework on which to assess the evolution of mankind. Further, he thought the so-called precession of the zodiac should be viewed in an entirely different way - the constellations should be conceived as moving forward through the zodiac, just as the planets do. For example, today the constellation Pisces could be said to be advancing through the sign Aries "Astrology is a symbolic language. It is a language attempting to formulate, by means of symbols based on the common experience of men facing the all-surrounding sky, an immensely complex structure of relationships between the universe and man; relationships which we cannot explain in other ways. We cannot satisfactorily explain them according to our present-day methods of scientific analysis because these methods, at least so far, have not proven applicable to the level or the kind of space-time structure at which these cosmic connections actually operate. " from Humanistic to Transpersonal Astrology by Dane Rudhyar The Moon signs, and Planetary movements in this calendar are calculated using the Tropical Zodiac The Moon s position in the zodiac and the time it moves sign is shown in the coloured bar at the bottom of each day Muslim dates are +/- one day depending upon the physical sighting of the Jewish holidays begin at sunset on the preceding day. Buddhist dates. Hindu Festivals. Christian dates. Bahia dates. More info on the multicultural dates at Many thanks this year to John Flannery s Sky Guide that I used for the celestial events highlighted each month, If what you want is an astronomical (based on the sidereal zodiac) rather an astrological calendar, download his one with many more astronomical events at Times are GMT and are adjusted to British Summer time.
