John wants to figure out how many fluid ounces of purple cow that is 10% grape juice should be mixed with 10 fluid ounces of purple cow that is 35% grape juice to get a drink that is 20% grape juice. To figure this out, John may solve the equation 10% g + 35% 10 = 20% (g + 10), where g is the number of fluid ounces of purple cow that is 10% grape juice. Solve the equation for John and tell him how many fluid ounces he needs of purple cow that is 10% grape juice. 8. Answer the following questions. (a) What do we call a triangle that has one angle equal to 90? (b) What do we call the side of a triangle that is opposite the 90 angle? What do we call the other two sides? (c) If the side of a triangle that is opposite the 90 angle has length z, and the other two sides have lengths x and y, then the three lengths are related by the equation x 2 + y 2 = z 2. What is the name of the theorem that gives this relation? (d) In a circle, what is the distance from the center to any point on the circle called?
