The time we all look forward to. It is time for you to play, have fun, visit new places and meet your near and dear ones. Enjoy your holidays. Read books, improve your writing, work on vocabulary enhancement. Manage your work in such a way that a little work is done everyday to avoid piling up of work for the last moment. Go for a walk with your family. You will realize that you have two of God's greatest gifts- nature and family. Do not forget to thank God for these gifts. 8 Task 12 Our kitchen is a spice hub. Mummy uses a variety of spices while cooking food. Choose any five spices from your kitchen and draw a pictograph showing the state in which it is grown. Task 13 Spices are frequently used in cooking in combination with herbs. Spices are dried plant parts other than leaves. For example, pepper is a berry, cloves are young flower buds, cardamom is a fruit and cinnamon comes from the bark of the cinnamon tree. We have learnt about the steps farmers follow to grow their crops. Here are some of the spices you can try growing at home: Ginger, turmeric, coriander, garlic, onion. Grow one such plant at home and bring it to school. You could take help from the link given below. Task 14 Spices from around the World : Spices and herbs are some of the key ingredients for preparing and cooking food from different countries, as it is their flavour which gives it the authentic taste of the dish. Choose any one variety of food (example - Chinese,Continental,Indian) and write a description for some of the most commonly used herbs and spices, as well as their health benefits. Note :- The entire holiday homework is to be done on A4 sheets. Submit it to your class teacher after the holidays in a beautifully designed folder.
