1 M. S. MODEL SCHOOL The school shall remain closed on account of summer- vacations ( for classes LKG to UKG only ) starting from ( Monday ) till ( Sunday ). The school will organize classes for I st to - XII th from (Monday) till ( Saturday ) timings will be from 08:00 am to 01:30 pm. These classes are compulsory for all students of these classes. The school will organize remedial classes for only weak students of VII th & VIII th. These classes will be held from (Monday) till ( Thursday ). Timings for these days will be from am to pm. These classes are compulsory for weak students of the above mentioned classes. The school will organize extra classes for IX th, X th, XI th, XII th from (Monday) till ( Thursday ). Timings for these days will be from am to pm. These classes are compulsory for all students. For admissions in class 11 th, fee submission or any other official purpose, the school office shall remain open ( on all working days only ) during the summer vacations ( till ). Office timings will be from am to am. The fee of June, 2018 should be deposited by 15 June, After that, fine will be charged. Office timings will be from am to am. S.L.C / T.C. to students ( who wish to move to another school after passing class 10 th from here ) will be issued after 02nd July Such students are supposed to submit their applications after result declaration by CBSE. Timings am to am. The school shall re-open ( for all classes ) after summer vacations on ( Monday ). Summer Vacations Homework for Class 8 th ENGLISH: - 1. Write your own views on the Topics mentioned below. Around 100 words on each topic. a). Importance of knowledge b) How plants grow b) A morning walk d) Necessity of Oxygen e) Conservation of natural resources f) Saving electricity g) Hygienic India Healthy India h) Few Good Manners that a student must possess 2. Write 1 page daily in good handwriting. 3. Learn question-answers, word meanings & MCQs of chapter 1, 2 & 3. Prepare them for a test in first week of July Write a letter to your friend inviting him to spend his holiday with you. 5. Write a letter to your uncle thanking him for the birthday gift.

2 6. Revise the tenses taught to you in class during April and May Read Times of India (an English Newspaper) daily during vacations. Find out 10 new words daily. Write their meanings in Hindi & English. Make a different sentence using each of those 15 new words. 8. Explain in 200 words, how reading a English newspaper daily will help a student improve his vocabulary, fluency in English. 9. Write in your own words what you feel about your parents and teachers. Around 250 words. 10. Write your views about the essentiality of using proper Hindi or English in your school and at home. What are the benefits of doing so? Around 250 words. 11. Write minimum 10 ways by which a student can improve his fluency in English? SCIENCE:- Find out any 3 festivals in India that are related to harvests and what are the special foods made during these festivals. Collect & paste the pictures of traditional and modern methods of irrigation in your scrapbook Make a well labelled and beautiful chart on the following topics: - i) Nitrogen cycle in nature (only for Roll number from ) ii) Two protons and two algae (only for Roll number from 16 to 30 ) iii) Different agricultural tools (only for Roll number from 31 to 45 ). Write a short note on excess use of plastic and its harmful effects on environment and human body. Do the following activities in science practical file: - i) To show the reaction of non -metals with oxygen forming a non-metal acidic oxide. ( page no-67) ii) To show the presence of micro-organisms in soil and water ( page number 26). iii) To compare the strength of systematic fibre with natural fibre ( page number 48 ). iv) To show the conduction of electricity by metals ( page number 63 ). Dengue and Chikungunya were in the news last year. How do these diseases spread and what precautionary measures needs to be taken for their prevention? Write the following differences on A4 sheet: - i) Thermoplastic and thermosetting plastic ii) Difference in physical and chemical properties of metals and non-metals Learn chapter 1 to 4.
