Proofs of results - irrationality of 2, 3, 5. Revisiting Rational Numbers and their Decimal Expansions in terms of terminating/non-terminating recurring decimals. The students will be able to understand: 1. Application of the concept of Euclid s division lemma to find the HCF of numbers. 2. A relation between the LCM, HCF and the product of numbers. 3. Whether to apply HCF or LCM in order to solve word problems based on the given information. 4. The concept of Fundamental theorem of arithmetic and solve applications based on it. 5. Proving numbers as irrational. 6. Distinguish between rational and irrational numbers by their decimal representation. 7. The values of terminating and non-terminating decimals.
