To carefree days of sunny hours, To birds and butterflies and flowers. But we are glad school has begun, For work is always mixed with fun. When autumn comes and the weather is cool, Nothing can take the place of school.

2 October Pumpkin Poem By Anonymous One day I found two pumpkin seeds. I planted one and pulled the weeds. It sprouted roots and a big, long vine. A pumpkin grew, I called it mine. The pumpkin was quite round and fat. (I really am quite proud of that.) But there is something I ll admit, That has me worried just a bit. I ate the other seed, you see. Now will it grow inside of me? I m so relieved since I have found That pumpkins only grow in the ground!

4 december Winter Morning By ogden Nash Winter is the king of showmen, Turning tree stumps into snowmen, And houses into birthday cakes, And spreading sugar over lakes. Smooth and clean and frosty white, The world looks good enough to bite. That s the season to be young, Catching snowflakes on your tongue. Snow is snowy when it s snowing. I m sorry it s slushy when it s going.

5 January Winter Is The Warmest By Anonymous Winter is the warmest season. Oh, you say you want a reason? Is it warm when the snow piles high and wide? It is if you re bundled up inside. When it s storming, when it s raining, I stay indoors without complaining. Other people like to ski or sled down a hill, But not me. While you re bundled up in your jacket, I m tearing open a hot cocoa packet. I don t mind summer, I ll make that clear. But winter s my favorite time of year.

6 February I Gave My Dog A Valentine By jack prelutsky I made my dog a valentine. She sniffed it very hard. Then chewed on it a little while and left in the yard. I made one for my parakeets, A pretty paper heart. They pulled it with their claws and beaks Until it ripped apart. I made one for my turtle. All he did was get it wet. I wonder if a valentine is wasted on a pet.

7 Spring By Anonymous A sing red bird was spotted today. The long cold winter is melting away. March Squirrels are about and acorn seeking. Through the mist the sun is peaking. Kids venture out with sweatshirts and hoods. New life has come to fields and woods. Blossoms on trees will be starting to show. In just a few weeks the river will flow Winter is gone but the memory is still there. There s still a chill in the springtime air. Summer is waiting a few month beyond. To warm the air, the meadow, and pond. A gopher peers out from the holes that he makes. Springtime is when the whole world awakes.

9 May/june May Is By Maude M. Grant A blue shot with sunbeams. Green shadows neath the trees. The caroling of many birds. A gentle, soft, warm breeze. The fruit trees all in blossom. Pale pink and pearly white. The lilacs waving purple plumes. A truly gorgeous sight. Each flowering shrub is beautiful. Gigantic, sweet bouquet. In the month of birds and flowers. Fragrant, lovely, merry May.
