Summary of the project Telling stories is an age-old art of keeping alive events in words and sounds. Storytelling is found in every country and is frequently used to teach and entertain young people. "Secret Library" will create opportunity for youth to meet, to discover each other culture's similarities and differences, to experience different storytelling traditions from different areas of Europe and to learn more about customs of the countries. The main aim of the project is to perform different stories from each country and to re-create them into one common European legend with elements about inclusion of young people with geographical obstacles, learning difficulties, cultural differences and social problems. Using non-formal learning with interactive approach we will create a European framework of fairytales, anecdotes, fables and urban legends. In the interest of wider dissemination of the results on the last day there will be organized Storytelling Festival opened to local people.

Interesting facts about Tallinn * During Estonia's White Nights in late June the Tallinn sky stays bright from 3 am until around 12 pm. * Tallinn's Old Town was entered on UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1997 as an 'exceptionally complete and well preserved example of a medieval northern European trading city'. * Tallinn's Town Hall, built , is the best preserved Medieval town hall in Northern Europe. * Tallinn is only 85km from Helsinki. A ferry trip between the cities takes 2 hours or less. * Europe's oldest continuously operating pharmacy is in Tallinn. It has been open since 1422.

Accomodation The hotel «Tatari 53» is located just 10 min on foot from the Medieval Old Town and 5 minutes by tramway or bus. The participants will be accommodated full pension in double rooms with private bathrooms. Most of the activities will be held in the working room, but we will also have some parts of the programme outside of the hotel. Wireless Internet connection is available in every room.

Travel Cost We will reimburse 100% of your travel costs in the end of the YE up to the limit of distance calculator: Distance Maximum Macedonia km Spain km Croatia km Hungary km Germany km France km Country Reimbursement of travel costs will only be done upon full attendance in the YE and presentation of the original tickets with boarding passes and receipt/invoices. Please note if you bought your ticket in your local currency, which might be different than EURO, we will calculate your travel costs according to the exchange rates from of cial European Commission web-site for the month of ticket purchase:

Arrival and departure There are different options to arrive in Tallinn. Possibilities are Lennart Meri International Airport, that is only 5 km from the hotel. In case of taking ight to Riga, you have a direct bus from airport to Tallinn main bus station (Bussijaam), the trip will be around h. In coordination with the organizers about your arrival, there will be one representative from our team staff with a sign of Youth Senate Tallinn on the airport/bus station waiting for you.any proposals of making the staying shorter or longer should be consulted with organizers! Before buying any tickets, please rst send us the details, so we can approve them and give a green light ;) Please DO NOT lose your boarding passes/bus tickets! We will not be able to reimburse you, if you lose them! Useful links: - International Airport in Tallinn - ( ) - Main bus station ( - Local public transport in Tallinn (

Preparation During the international evenings you will have a chance to promote your culture, by sharing traditional food, drinks, music, ags, games, videos, dances and etc. Please try to avoid power point presentations. You can bring typical costumes, ornaments, lea ets, posters, yers, prepare some questionnaires - use your creativity! P.s. Every country will have up to 20 min for presentation. We strongly recommend all participants to obtain European Health Insurance Card (if possible) or to use any alternative insurance. Here you can read more about EHIC ( We will create a Facebook group with all the participants, the organisation s team and sending organizations. With the help of this group we will be able to communicate faster and easier with the whole team, before project start. During the youth exchange we will be sharing materials within this group so you will have them all in one place.

In order to start working together even before the project, every national team will have a homework, that will help during the youth exchange to present the topic of legends and stories in every country. Leaders of the groups will be responsible for the results. Find out and choose one legend from your country, that is not commercialized or is not wellknown for the wide public. Make a research on the following topics: - International Storytelling day in your country - How much attention is put on literature, theatre classes in the schools, universities Make a TOP-5 famous writers/poets/storytellers of all ages in your culture Spread the questionnaire about Storytelling with your friends, organisation s volunteers and members, so we will have answers from different cultures on one common topic across Europe.
