3 Accidents and incidents occur almost daily on our roads in all seasons especially during the unpredictable winter months and the maintenance of those roads is an ongoing activity. Reactive while making the effort to being more Proactive. Record keeping, and it s role, priority and importance playing a bigger part. Slide 3

4 As roads staff, we should take every opportunity to communicate with our local Police services as much as possible, conveying existing and potential forecasted road conditions as well as ongoing maintenance activities. To achieve a basic level of understanding on using languages and defined by all when it comes to harmonizing what a roads condition is. Gain an opportunity to work closer together between our agencies. Slide 4

6 Each municipality is placing a greater dependency on the Minimum Maintenance Standards (O.Reg.239/02) with their own Levels of Service. How society and the Courts over the last 10+ years are interpreting our services, is based on documentation by us (the municipality) and the Police Services (upon responding to urgent road situations).
