6 Our approach to training 1. All our courses depend on partnerships leveraging the resources, infrastructure and expertise of others. 2. All training initiatives have objectives that relate to a specific audience and specific job roles. 3. Application orientation: the training events focus on applications rather than instruments.

12 ASMET Team the African training expert group - ASMET team consists of training experts from four Centres of Excellence: DNM, EAMAC, IMTR, SAWS, in collaboration with EUMETSAT/COMET. - The team has designed meteorological learning resources since Currently preparation of a lesson on Satellite & NWP integration, including also webinars (EN/FR) and weather briefings.

14 Course participant experience The flexibility in terms of time during the online session enabled one to continue with other activities: I was able to continue with normal office work together with university exams while undertaking the online course. Online session provided a good foundation for understanding basics of satellite interpretation especially with online input from participants and instructors. This simplified the application of satellite information i.e. WV, I.R, VIS Fog RGB among others in forecasting weather events for different areas and purposes during the classroom session.
