It provides a digital library and other services for us. ⅱInviting Doctor Yan Sun to give us an academic lecture In May 17 th, We invited Doctor Yan Sun to give us an academic lecture titled Optical fiber amplifier dynamics and application in optical network. Yan Sun is a newly elected OSA Fellow. He had contributed to Bells Lab for a long time and he is an famous expert in optical amplifiers. First He introduced some fundamental theories about optical fiber amplifiers to us. Then he introduced the latest development and directions in this field. ⅲ Visiting new Beijing Planetarium In May 21 st we visited the newly completed Beijing Planetarium. At first we saw the digital universe theater. Then we looked around some aerolite and some astronomy telescopes. In succession we visited the solar system exhibition. In that day there was an exhibition about Mars research. This exhibition was launched by an American professor. He lay out an instrument model he developed used for Mars exploration.
