6 Copernicus Data & Information Access Services Slide 11 EU Policy context and priorities - The user driven Copernicus Programme is a key European asset for the economic well-being and prosperity of European citizens in line with EU Council decisions - The Copernicus Programme is coherent with the principles of the Joint Declaration of Space signed in 2016 by EC and ESA - Copernicus Evolution fulfills main actions of EC Space Strategy for Europe - Copernicus and Copernicus Evolution, with a strong user oriented approach, is a tool for Europe to support political priorities of the EU and its sectorial policies Copernicus is operational and has already many millions of users! close to registered users on the Sentinel Open Data Hub and vastly more accessing via secondary data access services!
