1 Year Year Breakdown & Textbook Mapping Spring This document is designed to be used in conjunction with the White Rose Schemes of Learning and has been written as a guide to indicate the progression and pace in which the National Curriculum objectives should be covered. The lesson breakdown provided is our suggested route and should be used appropriately with professional judgement. The Maths Hubs are working nationally to create some Mastery Curriculum Materials; this resource should be viewed as an interim measure until these materials are ready. We welcome any suggestions to this document and are always looking to refine and improve where possible. We hope you find it useful! Surrey Plus Maths Hub Team

3 Year Spring Term Learning Objective Recall and use multiplication and division facts for the, and 8 multiplication tables. Multiplication and related division facts for the, and 8 times table. 2 Multiply a multiple of ten by a single digit. Number: Multiplication & Division Write and calculate mathematical statements for multiplication and division using the multiplication tables they know, including for two-digit numbers times one-digit numbers, using mental methods and progressing to formal written methods Multiply a 2-digit number by a -digit using. No regrouping. Multiply a 2-digit number by a -digit using alongside the formal method. No regrouping. Multiplying a 2-digit number by a -digit using alongside the formal method. Regrouping ones. Multiplying a 2-digit number by a -digit using alongside the formal method. Regrouping ones and tens. Dividing 2 digits by digit using partitioning supported by concrete resources. Dividing 2 digits by digit partitioning so that the tens and ones in the dividend are multiplies of the divisor. Dividing 2 digits by digit using concrete resources alongside the formal method. Solve problems including missing number problems involving multiplication and division, positive integer scaling problems and correspondence problems in which n objects are connected to m objectives. Applying an understanding of multiplicative reasoning to scaling. Understanding correspondence through the application of multiplicative reasoning. Review 5 Assess
4 Learning Objective Tell and write the time from an analogue clock, including using Roman numerals, - hour and 2-hour clocks. 2 Link typical events to times of day using vocabulary such as morning, afternoon, noon, night and midnight. Tell the time on an analogue clock to the nearest 5 minutes using the terms am and pm. Tell the time on an analogue clock to the nearest minute using the terms am and pm. Understand the relationship between a digital and an analogue clock. Use vocabulary such as o clock, am/pm, morning, afternoon, noon and midnight. 5 6 Investigate how Roman numerals are used on clocks. Investigate the difference between and 2 hour clock. Measurement Record and compare time in terms of seconds, minutes and hours. Estimate and read time with increasing accuracy to the nearest minute. Know the number of seconds in a minute and the number of days in each month, year and leap year. Compare durations of events [e.g. calculate the time taken by particular events or tasks]. 7 Tell the time using the 2 hour clock. 8 Tell the time using the 2 hour clock. 9 0 Understand and estimate and record time in seconds. Understand, estimate and record time in minutes. Understand the number of seconds in a minute and the number of days in a month, year and leap year. To calculate durations of events when given start and end times. Compare the duration of different events in minutes Review 5 Assess
5 Learning Objective Investigating the concept of tenths reviewing the understanding of numerator and denominator. 2 Counting forward and backward in tenths through whole numbers. Recognise that tenths arise from dividing an object into 0 equal parts and in dividing onedigit numbers or quantities by 0. Identify and find /0 of an object by dividing it into 0 equal parts. 5 Identify non unit fraction tenths of objects. 6 Identify non unit fraction tenths of amounts. Number: Fractions Count up and down in tenths. 9 Recognise that tenths arise from dividing an object into 0 equal parts and in dividing onedigit numbers or quantities by Finding the complement of tenths to make a whole. Finding the complement of a fraction other than tenths to make one (same denominators). Counting forward and backward in tenths through whole numbers. 0 Find /2, / and / of objects. Find /2, / and / of amounts. Finding non unit fractions of objects. (2/, /, 2/) Recognise, find and write fractions of a discrete set of objects: unit fractions and nonunit fractions with small denominators Finding non unit fractions of amounts. (2/, /, 2/) Compare the relative size of non-unit fractions. Compare the relative size of non-unit fractions of amounts. Begin to understand that the fraction line represents division.
