2 In 2012 King s Oak celebrated a big improvement in GCSE results. The percentage of children achieving 5 or more grades A* to C increased from 65% to 79% and the percentage who in addition achieved this with English and Maths went up by 20% from 32% to 52%. A Level results similarly saw a strong improvement. This year the percentage of children achieving 5 or more grades A* to C in GCSEs increased from 79% to 86% and the A Level results again improved strongly with the best improvement in A Level points per candidate and points per entry in the county. 49% of A level grades were at A*, A or B. The percentage of children achieving 5 or more grades including English and Maths fell, in line with many schools and academies across the country who were impacted by the increase in grade boundaries for English. We currently have a number of GCSE English appeals sitting with the exam board, and we are waiting for the outcomes of these.
