OF Tim Wheeler (2009, 1st round, Cal State Sacramento) was the hero this time around, smacking a walk-off solo home run in the bottom of the 9th, his second home run of the game. LHP Jorge De La Rosa made his second rehab start of the season for the Topes, going five innings and giving up three runs (two earned) on three hits. He struck out five and walked none. New Britain (2-4) fell behind 2-0 after the first inning and couldn t come back, going on to lose 4-1 to Portland. CF David Dahl (#22 overall prospect, Baseball America) went 1-for-4 at the plate, extending his hit streak to six games to begin the season. Modesto (2-4) couldn t get the bats going, falling to Bakersfield 1-0. RHP Antonio Senzatela (#8 Rockies prospect, Baseball America) gave up one run in six innings, surrendering only three hits. Asheville (4-2) shut out Hickory one day after being shut out themselves, besting the Crawdads by a score of 7-0. RHP Zach Jemiola (2012, 9th round, Great Oaks HS) hurled six innings, giving up no runs on two hits with no walks and three strikeouts. 2B Forrest Wall (2013, 1st round, Orangewood Christian HS) mashed a grand slam in the top of the 7 th to put the game away for the Tourists. Boise, one of three new affiliates for the Rockies, will begin the season on June 18. The Hawks will be led by Supervisor of Development Fred Nelson, Manager Frank Gonzalez, Pitching Coach Doug Jones and Hitting Coach Andy Gonzalez. Grand Junction will also start their season on June 18.
