7 II. Introduction to vectors 13.2 Vectors are used to describe applications that have magnitude and direction. Velocity vectors of air flowing over an airplane wing Force Vector Vector Notation Vectors can be represented by a directed line segment B (terminal point) v A (initial point) Vector denoted as v (boldface),v, or AB. Length or magnitude is denoted as AB, v, or v (not boldface). Two vectors are equivalent (or equal) if 7
