Estmatg the Model Parameters Because models arse aturall examg data from desged expermets, we frequetl eed to estmate the model parameters. We ofte use the method of least squares for parameter estmato. Ths procedure chooses values for the model parameters that mmze the sum of the squares of the errors ε. We wll llustrate ths procedure for the meas model. For smplct, assume that the sample szes for the two factor levels are equal; that s = =.
