Dedication To Chad. Be different, be a good Brother and be strong, little man.
My name is Alex. I am 23 years old. I am a twin. My sister Ally is 23 too. We are Brothers in the MC. Even though Ally is a girl she's a good Brother. Don't be late though because Ally will worry and yell. She yells loud. She works on computers in Security. She's the highest kind of computer tech MC-Baxters has. I live with my Prince Brothers in Rhode Island. They are part of the MC but they have their own Club. Little Ben is Prez. He's important like my dad and the MC Pres. My dad says everyone is important and we have to show them in case they need our strong.

I have Downs Syndrome and that means I have a lot of strong to share. Me and Ally were born with Down Syndrome. We are like the other Brothers and work just like them. I'm good at teaching people what a good Brother does. We help each other and our community. We helped with people that didn't have a place to live and the Vets. Those are the military people that came home and didn't have a house. We help them too.

I work at the garage with Trapper he fixes bikes for the Princes. He can't see with his eyes so he sees with his fingers and ears. He's a good mechanic and helps show the kids their strong. I work at the lab for Jared too. He makes new bike parts. I help him on the computer there and I'm good at my job. I like working there and saving my money like a good Brother. Jared said I can work 25 hours a week so I do. The rest of the time I help Trapper and Jax at the garage or the people in our towns that need a help.

Oh No! It looks like a puppy has wandered away from its mother. Can you help Prince find the lost puppy so he can help her get home?
People smile when you help them. I'm good at making people smile so I made a program for the Vets. We're going to share our strong and make them smile. My mom and Ally like to make people smile too. They share their strong all the time. It's my turn today. Prince is my dog. Uncle Steve trained him special for me. He rides on my bike and Trapper helped me make a seat for him. We have to keep him safe just like me. That's what a good Brother does. He watches out for you and helps make things better so you smile. If Prince could, he would smile. He likes riding on my bike with me. He doesn't wear a helmet or nothing but he has a service dog cut like my cut.

We wear our cuts everywhere so people know we are with the Brotherhood and like to help people. If you fall off your bike the cut will help your back too because it's leather. We have other stuff that helps if you fall. It s called gear. Me and Prince ride to the Vet's house and I see a whole bunch of kids. They can help me. The man said I need people to help with the dogs for today. Next week the Vets will help. When I stop Prince jumps off my bike. He is careful not to touch the pipes because they are hot. He is a smart dog. He sniffs at my friend Dion but sits and waits for me to talk.
Help Alex decorate his sweater for Christmas!
"I need help for my Program today at the Vet house. Do you want to help hold the dog's leashes until the Vets take them. I have balls and stuff to play while we wait for them to smile." Dion smiles. "I can help. How many do you need?" "They are bringing twelve dogs. I can see if the Brothers will help too, but I don't think we need it if you help. Right?" I look around for Brothers. Dion talks to a boy that doesn't know I'm a good Brother. He explains it while I tell the Security Brother what I need. He's going to help me next week but Prez is sending me help today. Prez is a good Brother. He always helps if you ask him. I look at my watch. "Dion I have to be at the Vets house so I am not late. Can you bring your friends?" He nods smiling. "We'll meet you there Alex."
Color a picture of Alex and Prince talking to Dion s friends.
Me and Prince go back to the Vet house and wait for the dogs. Trapper told the RA, that's a Resident Assistant, that we were coming so the Vets that want to play will be ready. He's smart like that. The kids are running and laughing with Dion. They're already smiling before the dogs show up. This will be a good program if the helpers smile. Kaleb backs his bike by mine. He doesn't ride one like me that's all new technology like we build at the lab. He rides the old fashioned bike like Prez and my dad when he's not working. I like all bikes but mine is my favorite.

"Alex I came to help with your program today." Kaleb says smiling at the kids running toward us. I throw him chin. "Thanks Kaleb. My friend Dion and his friends are helping too. This will be a good program if everyone is already smiling. Right?" He laughs and slaps my back. That's what Brothers do when they show support to you. They slap your back. I am very happy everyone shows to help. The van stops right on the side of us and I tell them what we need to do. They all agree and wait for the man to get us the dogs. "Are you Alex?" The man asks Kaleb. He makes me laugh putting his hands up. "Nope I'm the helper. Alex is in charge of the Smile for Vets Program."

The man smiles and tells me it's a good program. I throw him chin. "The Vets already know we are here to play for a while. We just need the dogs. If they do good here we can make the other Vet houses smile too at a different time." He opens the door and the dogs are loud and happy to be getting out to play. "You let me know. if we can do it on the same day I can leave one and go to the other. That would make it easy on the dogs." "I will call and tell you. I have to check the schedules like this house and see if people want to see the dogs. I can call you tomorrow."

He likes that and smiles at me. When he gives me a leash I bring the dog to Dion. He walks the dog closer to the Vets. When we have all the dogs out I get the balls and ropes to play with. Kaleb helps me pass them out. The kids and Vets like playing with the dogs. Prince stays with me and doesn't play with them. We can do that at home. When we are out he has to be a good Brother and watch out for me. That's what he's doing while we watch everyone playing and talking. I talk to the RA and he thinks bringing the dogs to the other Vet houses is a good idea. "Alex it may be good to see how they do with the Vets that are disabled. Maybe Steve can train them to help like Prince helps you." I nod smiling at Kaleb he is a smart Brother. "I asked Uncle Steve to make dogs for the man in the wheelchair at the other house. He's going to make him a medium dog to help him."
Alex and the MC kids are putting together a very special basket for the Vets! They ve collected all kinds of things but only objects shaped like a circle will go in the basket. Can you help the Alex and the kids by circling the round shapes?
He laughs. "You're a good man and Brother Alex. You let me know when and where you need help. If I'm down I'll help." I slap his back for being a good Brother. "Thanks Kaleb. I think we can do the other houses but need to see how many times the man will stop in a day. We can't make the dogs work too much. They won't help the people to smile if they are sad and tired. Right?" He is a happy Brother and laughs nodding. Dion walks to us without a dog. "The Vets really like them Alex. You did good." "Thanks Dion. I'm a good Brother and know how to make people smile. You are too Dion. You're going to make a good Big Brother someday."

Kaleb shakes his hand and Dion is smiling. He loves the Brothers. "I'm Kaleb, a friend of the Prince's from the Mass Chapter. How did you two meet Dion?" "Kids were giving him a hard time. When I started listening to him I got how smart he is. He was looking for help at the dump and I stuck close. When his dad showed the kids let off him and saw what he was all about." Kaleb nods and smiles. "You're a good friend to have Dion. Thanks for watching out for him. He's very special to the Princes and the MC." I hug Kaleb because he's always nice to me. "Are you here again next week Alex?" Dion asks looking back at the dogs.
Can you draw a Motorcycle?
Maybe he likes helping too. "I will be here. I need to see if the other Vet houses want dogs and if the man can bring them on the same day. Do you want to help Dion?" He smiles but looks sad. "I can only get to this one. I don't have a way to get to the others." "I can get you to the others. If you show here I'll have a ride for you to follow Alex to the others." Dion doesn't look like he believes Kaleb. "He is a good Brother Dion. We take care if our own. When you help, you're one of ours and we take care of you. That's what Brothers do right Kaleb?" "That's right Alex. If you show to help, we'll make it easy for you to keep helping. How old are you Dion?" "I'm twelve."

"You ask your mom to call me and I'll make sure it's okay with her then get you a ride setup for next week." Kaleb gives him a card with his name on it. I look at my watch. It's almost time for the dogs to leave. I talk to the man from the pound. "They did good today. That means we can have them again next week right?" He laughs. "It does. This is a nice thing to do Alex. Call me about the other houses and we'll set it up. You did a good job here." That makes me feel good so I throw him chin and slap his back like a good Brother. The Vets are happy, the kids are happy and Dion is happy. I tell the RA we will see him again next week. He is smiling too. I can't wait to tell Ally about the Smiles for Vets Program. She will be happy too. When all the dogs are loaded back in the van the Vets thank me. I tell them we will be here next week and they can
play again. I say goodbye to Dion and remind him to have his mom call Kaleb so he can help next week. He runs home making Kaleb laugh. We get on our bikes and Prince jumps in his seat. Kaleb follows me to the Garage so I can tell Trapper it worked and everyone was smiling today. It's a good day to be a good Brother. The end.
