1 WhitmanHanson Regional High School provides all students with a high quality education in order to develop reflective, concerned citizens and contributing members of the global community. Course Number 420 Title Algebra I Honors Grade 9 # of Days 60 Course Description This accelerated course completes the Algebra I course started in grade 8. Topics will include exponents and powers, quadratic equations and square roots, polynomials, linear systems, factoring, and functions. Symbolism is used to express abstract ideas. Real life applications will be included for all topics. Students achieving Honor Roll grades should continue on into Algebra II Honors, Trig/Precal Honors, and Advanced Placement math courses. This course addresses WhitmanHanson Student Learning Expectations 16. Instructional Strategies Instructional Strategies include but may not be limited to the following: 1. Whole class instruction 2.
