1 - 11 Pleasantness, Interestingness and Color Affective Scales in Color Combinations Tsutsui Ako Ohmi Gentarow Graduate School of Art and Design JOSHIBI University of Art and Design Graduate School of Art and Design JOSHIBI University of Art and Design Key words : Evaluative Scales, Color Affective Scales, Color Combinations?3 5?0? 0?1 1?? ?1? ?01 Summary Through what processes do evaluations to aesthetic stimuli occur? We have tried to reveal the psychological structures of aesthetic evaluation by assuming the variables that mediates between stimuli and evaluations for them. We have examined the effectiveness of the color affective scales as the predictor variables of evaluative judgments, especially of pleasantness and interestingness. Ten graduate students rated 50 color combinations on scales of pleasantness, interestingness, lightness, warmth, strength, and complexity. In the multiple regression models of two aesthetic evaluations, interestingness consisted of lightness, complexity, and strength, whereas pleasantness was composed of only lightness. These results indicate that pleasantness has a simpler structure than interestingness and that lightness has a considerably strong effect on pleasantness. 1. 3? zv zvz zz zv v 1.1. z - vzv awfzw <ZWhdWg,'- zu v FaaKbWUWd.z wv z v z /v GSkSfS['Leg[a'B]WS'GSTS 0 I[WfWde 1 HgEga 2 v HeYaa'KgU['LSWTSg 3K= z 4',+ vheyaa. v ;WdkW,,z v
