11 ك Nizar Qabbani s Prose in light of Socialinguistics BY Ala a Gassan Abdo Asfahani Supervision Dr. Saud mahmoud Abd Al-Jaber Abstract This study has focused on Nizar Qabbani s prose in light of socialinguistics to be a Socialinguistic study that utilizes the controversial relation between language and society to shed light on the social effects which contribute to the formation of the linguistic structures in Qabbani s prose. The study also revealed Qabbani s social views through studying his most distinctive attitudes towards the issues of strongly related to society. In addition, the study has drawn attention to the factors of linguistic variation in Qabbani s prose and the effects of the place component in forming his linguistic expressions and their suggestive indications The study has been set into five chapters. The first section deals with the general frame of the study which includes the introduction of the study, its questions, its aims, its significance, its limits, its procedures and its vocabulary. The second chapter deals with the theoretical side of the study and the previous literature on the subject of the study.the third chapter sets the ground for the study by concentrating on three subjects. The first one covers Qabbani s life and the factors that helped in building his personality and were reflected in his prose.

The third section talked about socio- language and its relation to the individual and the concept of social linguistics and its evolution. The fourth section was based on four social areas which were religious values, politics, the other, and woman and the effect of his social points of view on his prose formation. The fifth chapter which consists of tow sections was an applied research study of the effects of the element of place in composing Qabbani s prose context and selecting its underlying linguistics expressions, their structures and varieties within the two features of multiplicity and dualism.
