4 Since last we met. Partnered with math colleagues in the Triangle High Five districts to determine common naming and sequencing to present to DPI. SAS supported our efforts in hosting our bi-monthly meetings Dr. Jere Confrey consulted with the group as we developed the names and sequences. Presented proposal to five superintendents to garner their support in approaching DPI. Obtained full support from DPI provided five districts with course codes.

5 Our Goals Taking into consideration the rigor of the common core curriculum, our goals are: To create consistent sequences/course offerings for mathematical study, and 4 12 To create criteria for placement into those sequences/courses that is fair, equitable, and applied consistently for all students.

10 Practices are always interrelated with content. They must be addressed in tandem. Practices may provide a way to observe classrooms to see how the content is made understandable, challenging and engaging to students. 10
