1 GOALS 1. The student should be able to use mathematical properties to simplify algebraic expressions. 2. The student should be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and compare real numbers. 3. The student should be able to identify relations and functions in slope-intercept form, point-slope form, and standard form. 4. The student should be able to graph equations involving absolute value, inequalities and quadratics. 5. The student should be able to solve problems graphically that can be represented by equations or inequalities with and without technology. 6. The student should be able to solve problems algebraically that can be represented by linear and quadratic equations or inequalities. 7. The student should be able to solve systems of equations algebraically and graphically. 8. The student should be able to simplify polynomials using operations (add, subtract, 9. etc.) on polynomials. 10. The student should be able to solve simple interest, percent of increase/decrease, mixture, and proportion problems. 11. The student should be able to factor polynomials. 12. The student should be able to simplify rational expressions. 13. The student should be able to simplify radical expressions. 14. The student should solve open sentences (statements, negations, sets, and subsets).
