INTRODUCTION The natural convection low over a surace embedded in saturated porous media is encountered in many engineering problems such as the design o pebble-bed nuclear reactors, ceramic processing, crude oil drilling, geothermal energy conversion, use o ibrous material in the thermal insulation o buildings, catalytic reactors and compact heat exchangers, heat transer rom storage o agricultural products which generate heat as a result o metabolism, petroleum reservoirs, storage o nuclear wastes, etc. The derivation o the empirical equations which govern the low and heat transer in a porous medium has been discussed in [1-5]. The natural convection on vertical suraces in porous media has been studied used Darcy s law by a number o authors [6 20]. Boundary layer analysis o natural convection over a cone has been investigated by Yih [21-24]. Murthy and Singh [25] obtained the similarity solution or non-darcy mixed convection about an isothermal vertical cone with ixed apex hal angle, pointing downwards in a luid saturated porous medium with uniorm ree stream velocity, but a semi-similar solution o an unsteady mixed convection low over a rotating cone in a rotating viscous luid has been obtained Roy and Anilkumar [26]. The laminar steady no similar natural convection low o gases over an isothermal vertical cone has been investigated by Takhar et al. [27]. The development o unsteady mixed convection low o an incompressible laminar viscous luid over a vertical cone has been investigated by Singh and Roy [28] when the luid in the changed rom its ambient temperature. An analysis has been carried out by external stream is set into motion impulsively, and at the same time the surace temperature is suddenly Kumari and Nath [29] to study the non-darcy natural convention low o Newtonian luids on a vertical cone embedded in a saturated porous medium with power-law variation o the wall temperature/concentration or heat/mass lux and suction/injection. Cheng [30-34] ocused on the problem o natural convection rom a vertical cone in a porous medium with mixed thermal boundary conditions, Soret and Duour eects and with variable viscosity. Gorla and Chamkha [35] studied the natural convective boundary layer low over a non-isothermal vertical plate embedded in a porous medium saturated with a Nano luid. Khan and Pop [36] examined the ree convection boundary layer low past a horizontal lat plate embedded in a porous medium illed with a nanoluid. Chamkha et al. [37] presented the non-similar solutions or natural convective boundary layer low over a sphere embedded in a porous medium saturated with a nanoluid. Improving the technology, limit in enhancing the perormance o conventional heat transer is a main issue owing to low thermal conductivity o the most common luids such as water, oil, and ethylene- glycol mixture. Since the thermal conductivity o solids is oten higher than that o liquids, the idea o adding particles to a conventional luid to enhance its heat transer characteristics was emerged. Owing to wide range o technological applications including electronic systems, hydrocyclone devices, quenching and nuclear reactors, low over a sphere saturated in nanoluid has attracted so many attention. In this paper, the basic boundary layer equations have been reduced to a two-point boundary value problem via similarity variables, and solved numerically.

2 II. DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM AND FORMULATION The problem o natural convection about a downward-pointing vertical cone o hal angle embedded in a porous medium saturated with a non-newtonian power-law nanoluid. The origin o the coordinate system is placed at the vertex o the ull cone, with x being the coordinate along the surace o the cone measured rom the origin and y being the coordinate perpendicular to the conical surace Fig (1). The temperature o the porous medium on the surace o the cone is kept at constant temperature T, and the ambient porous medium temperature is held at constant temperature T.The nanoluid properties are assumed to be constant except or density variations in the buoyancy orce term. The thermo physical properties o the nanoluid are given in Table 1 (see Oztop and Abu -Nada [39]). Assuming that the thermal boundary layer is suiciently thin compared with the local radius, the equations governing the problem o Darcy low through a homogeneous porous medium saturated with power-law nanoluid near the vertical cone can be written in two-dimensional Cartesian coordinates (x,y). In this analysis we will consider the volumetric rate o heat generation, Q W m as: 3 w Q( T T ) Q 0 T T T T where Q is the heat generation coeicient. Figure 1. A schematic diagram o the physical model. The velocity and temperature ields in the boundary layer are governed by the two-dimensional boundary layer equations or mass, momentum and thermal energy: Continuity equation: (1) Momentum equation: Integration the momentum Eq. (2) we have: (2) (3) Energy equation:

For the case o n 1, the base luid is Newtonian. We note that n 1and n 1represent pseudo-plastic luid and dilatants luid, respectively. Property n and n are the density and eective viscosity o the nanoluid, and K is the modiied permeability o the porous medium. And Q is the heat generation coeicient. Furthermore, n and n are the equivalent thermal diusivity and the thermal expansion coeicient o the saturated porous medium, which are deined as (see Khanaer et al. [36]): (4) C p 1 C p C p n s (5) Here is the solid volume raction. The associated boundary conditions o Eqs. (1)-(4) can be written as: (6) where respectively, k and is the viscosity o the basic luid, C p and C p s and s are the densities o the pure luid and nanoparticle, are the speciic heat parameters o the base luid and nanoparticle, respectively, k s are the thermal conductivities o the base luid and nanoparticle, respectively. The local radius to a point in the boundary layer r can be represented by the local radius o the vertical cone r=x sinγ. The numerical solutions o the resulted similarity reductions are obtained or the original variables which are shown in Eqs. (10) and (11) along with the boundary conditions (13) by using the secant method. The physical quantity o interest here is the Nusselt number Nu and it is obtained and shown in Eqs. CONCLUSIONS A numerical study on the steady boundary layer low and heat transer o nanoluid over a downward-pointing vertical cone in a porous medium saturated with a non-newtonian nanoluid in the presence o heat generation or absorption has been perormed. Boundary layer equations were solved numerically by the Rung Kutta method with shooting technique on the natural convection boundary-layer low. The generalized governing equations derived in this work can be applied and parametric study o the physical parameters is conducted. These equations are solved by using Raunge kutta. Results show that, with increasing volume raction o nanoparticles rom 0 to 0.3 in both cases, i.e. no heat generation and temperature distribution, heat production increases. Also, It is shown that, With increasing volume raction o nanoparticles in both cases, heat production increases. It is seen that, increasing volume raction o nanoparticles in both cases, velocity distribution in the 1.8> η decreases in η> 1.8 increases. Comparisons with previously published work are perormed and good agreement is obtained. REFERENCES [1] Cheng P (1978) Heat transerin geothermal systems. Adv.
