Functions f 2 a n n that are analytic in the unit disk and satisfy the differential equation f αf γ 2 f g are considered, where g is subordinated to a normalied convex univalent function h. Thesefunctionsf aregiven by a doubleintegraloperator of the form f G tμ s ν t μ s ν ds dt with G subordinated to h. The best dominant to all solutions of the differential equation is obtained. Starlikeness properties and various sharp estimates of these solutions are investigated for particular cases of the convex function h.. Introduction Let A denote the class of all analytic functions f defined in the open unit disk U : { C : < } and normalied by the conditions f, f. Further, let S be the subclass of A consisting of univalent functions, and let S be its subclass of starlike functions. A starlike function f is characteried analytically by the condition Re f /f > inu,thatis,the domain f U is starlike with respect to origin. For two functions f a 2 2 and g b 2 2 in A, the Hadamard product or convolution of f and g is the function f g defined by ( ) f g a n b n n. n 2. For f and g in A, afunctionf is subordinate to g, written as f g, if there is an analytic function w satisfying w and w <, such that f g w, U.
2 2 Abstract and Applied Analysis When g is univalent in U, then f is subordinated to g which is equivalent to f U g U and f g. In a recent paper, Miller and Mocanu investigated starlikeness properties of functions f defined by double integral operators of the form f W s, t, ds dt..2 In this paper, conditions on a different kernel W are investigated from the perspective of starlikeness. Specifically, we consider functions f Agiven by the double integral operator of the form f G t μ s ν t μ s ν ds dt..3 In this case, it follows that f g t μ s ν ds dt,.4 where G g. Further, the function f satisfies a third-order differential equation of the form f αf γ 2 f g.5 for appropriate parameters α and γ. The investigation of such functions f can be seen as an extension to the study of the class R α, h { f A: f αf h, U }..6 The class R α, h or its variations for an appropriate function h have been investigated in several works; see, for example, 2 and more recently, Results on Differential Subordination We first recall the definition of best dominant solution of a differential subordination.
