12 Annex A (infrmative) Clarificatin f nminal, maximum and minimum test values A.1 General The requested prperties as given in this part f the standard EN xxx (i.e. EN xxxx-y), are given as nminal values with upper and lwer limits, maximum values and/r minimum values. The purpse f this annex is t clarify the nmenclature and the assciated values. A.2 Clarificatin f nminal value Nminal value means that the prperties f the material will have a mean value equal t the declared value. The mean value is based n all measured values f all batches f the manufacturer. The material delivered t the custmer is nrmally nly a fractin f the ttally prduced material. This may result in that the actual value n the prperty f the delivered material has a mean value lwer r higher than the declared value. Hwever, the mean value f the prperty f the delivered material shall nt be utside the declared tlerance limits in rder t be delivered accrding t the declared prperties. These tlerances include inaccuracy in the measurement itself. A.3 Clarificatin f minimum and maximum value Minimum value and maximum value means the mean value minus (-) and plus (+) tw standard deviatins, respectively. The minimum and maximum value is based n all measured values f all batches f the manufacturer. The delivered materials have a 97,6 % prbability f being within the minimum and maximum values, thus having 2,4 % prbability f being utside the minimum and maximum value. This implies that part f r all f the delivered material may belng t the fractin which is utside the minimum and maximum values. In rder t avid this, an agreement between the manufacturer and custmer stating that n material shall have prperties abve r belw the declared minimum and maximum values, i.e. guaranteed minimum r maximum values. A.4 Guaranteed minimum and maximum value Guaranteed minimum and maximum value mean that n delivered material has prperties belw r abve these values. When destructive testing is needed the mean value f the tested material (within the same batch) shall be within the declared minimum and maximum value fr that particular test if guaranteed values have been agreed. In case a guaranteed value is nt agreed, a sample test may have any value and still be within the specified range. 12
13 A.5 Extent f testing The extent f testing invlved fr a CA has t be agreed between the supplier and the custmer. Fr a resin material it is nrmal t btain the prperties frm the batch. Fr cre and fibre material, several f the tests are destructive tests and have t be perfrmed n undelivered material. Fr cre plates, destructive testing fr mechanical prperties can be perfrmed in the lwer range f density, while nn destructive tests, (dimensins and density) may be perfrmed n every plate r a selectin. The extent f testing f fibre material is similar as fr cre material, where typical values are btained frm ne r mre bbbins r an agreed selectin. 13
