1 Mathematics FSA Review Outline Designed to meet the high frequency MAFS benchmarks and review the critical reporting categories of the curriculum prior to the FSA assessments. Grouping of Students: Create a Dream Team. Divide all classes (Intensive 9 th, Intensive 10 th, Algebra I, Algebra II and Geometry) into differentiated groups to provide enrichment to those students that are guaranteed passing scores on the upcoming FSA and remediation for students with deficiencies and misconceptions based on pre-benchmark assessments. Student Groups High Potential to Pass student(s) o Independent or Paired o Enrichment Material o Content Heavy (Performance tasks, investigation and discovery activities) Moderate - Bubble Students o Teacher Lead (Mini Lessons) o Small groups (3 to 4 students) o Address misconceptions and misunderstandings Lower o Interventionist Lead (Mini Lessons) o Focus on skills and basic concepts o Guided worksheets and steps provided Instructional Model Most Difficult Task - A pre-assessment will be provided during the bellringer whereby students are given the opportunity to do the most difficult items on a given assessment first to demonstrate mastery or understanding of a grade level concept. If students are able to demonstrate mastery, then they will proceed to the selected enrichment activities for that period. If students are unable to demonstrate mastery, students will be divided into the moderate or lower groups. Questions from previous unit assessments can be used for the pre-assessment during the bellringer. Students will score their assessments and the teacher will instruct students to their designated groups.
