2 5. Honors and Awards Mark Anderson Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Award, 2002 Vesto Melvin Slipher Scholarship in the Sciences, 1993 Northern Arizona University, Department of Physics Achievement Award, Research My research interests include the experimental study of excited states of the nucleons and mesons, produced by multi-gev photon beams, in order to understand the fundamental quark structure of those particles. These studies involve the design, simulation, construction, and application of detectors and facilities to detect the charged particles produced when the excited particles decay. 6.1 Summary in Numbers Refereed articles in journals: 93 Invited Talks 8 Total research funding $1,495,000 (Credited to MRD: $680,000) 6.2 Publications in Refereed Journals 1.
