25 5 Factoring by Grouping: Factoring by grouping can be used to factor polynomials with 4 terms. Ex) x + 8x + 3x + 1 = x + 8 x + 3x + 1 Group the terms = x x x + 4 Remove a common factor ( ) ( ) from each group.
