What is Y(2175)? Some theoretical interpretations: A conventional state? ss ssss ss An analog of Y(4260) ( )? An 4-quark state? ssg More experimental information needed.
Results on 0 ++ mesons
Lattice QCD predicts the 0 ++ scalar glueball mass in the range GeV. f 0 (1500) and f 0 (1710) are good candidates.
PWA of J/ψ γπ + π - and γπ 0 π 0 at BESII Phys. Lett. B 642 (2006) 441
PWA of J/ψ γπ + π - and γπ 0 π 0 f 0(1500)? f 0 (1710)? + J /ψ γπ π The channels fitted in PWA: M(π + π - ) J 0 / ψ γπ π 0 M(π 0 π 0 )
PWA components: f 0 (1500) f 0 (1710)? f 0 (2020) f (1270) 2 f ( ) f 2 (2150) f (2050) 4 all 0 ++ all 2 ++
PWA results Lower 0 ++ : 0 ++ is strongly preferred over 2 ++ M = (1466 ± 6 ± 16) MeV Γ = ( ± 21) MeV f 0 (1370) cannot be excluded. Higher 0 ++ : f 0 (1710) or f 0 (1790) or both? M = Γ = ( ± 11) MeV (145 ± 8 ± 23 ) MeV
J /ψ γπ + π J 0 / ψ γπ π 0 Phys. Lett. B 642 (2006) 441
About f 0 (1500) and f 0 (1710) It is first clearly observed in J/ψ radiative decays. Its production rate in J/ψ radiative decays: BR( J / ψ γf 0 (1500)) BR( f 0 (1500) ππ ) ~ ( BESII) BR( f 0 (1500) ( PDG) ππ ) ~ 35% BR( J / ψ γf0(1500)) ~
The production rate of f 0 (1500) in J/ψ radiative decays is lower than that of f 0 (1710): BR( J / ψ γf0(1500)) ~ BR( J ( PDG) / ψ γf 0 (1710)) > It may indicate: f 0 (1710) has stronger coupling to gluons than f 0 (1500) which one contains more glueball content?
New results on baryons at BESII
Observation of a strong enhancement near the threshold of K Λ mass spectrum at BES II N X * BES II J / ψ pkλ M K Λ (GeV/c2 ) PS, eff. corrected (Arbitrary normalization) M K Λ M K M Λ
Best PWA fit: (J P =½ - is favored) m Br( J = / ψ MeV Γ = pnx) Br( Nx 43 + Fitted as N(1535) (becomes worse by about 5 σ (Δχ 2 =28 with d.o.f.=2)) MeV KΛ) = Br( J / ψ pn(1535)) Br( N(1535) KΛ) = Big Br.
Comparison between data and PWA fit projections MC data Fit results agree with data reasonably.
N x * is N(1535)? From BESII measurements: BR( J BR( J / ψ / ψ pn(1535)) BR( N(1535) pn(1535)) BR( N(1535) pπ ) ~ (1 ~ 2) 10 KΛ) ~ If N x * is N(1535), its coupling to KΛ is much stronger than to pπ. Then N(1535) would have very large ssbar component (a 5-quark system).
Observation of ψ radiative decays Expected 1% BR, but only 0.05% observed. Potential channels for hadron spectroscopy study, including search for nonqqbar states, provided statistics is enough (BESIII?). ~ 0.1% more observed in this analysis. 31 ψ(3770) non-dd decays ψ(3770) decays most copiously into DD. ψ(3770) is a mixture of the 1 3 D 1 and 2 3 S 1, other ψ(2s)-like decays for ψ(3770) are expected. (mixing angle 12±2 o ). Many theoretical calculations estimate the partial width for ψ(3770) π + π - J/ψ. (Lipkin, Yan, Lane, Kuang, Rosner) BES observed ψ(3770) π + π - J/ψ decays. Further confirmed by CLEO-c.
