1 Festival 30 Anniversary Reunion Celebration "Where Pearls are Made" FEBRUARY 23-24, 2019 PARTNERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
2 M E S S A G E F R O M T H E P R E S I D E N T Dear Sponsors and Supporters of the Harambee Festival: I greet you in my second year of service as President of Benedict College. Since its founding, the Harambee Festival has brought the community together on the last Saturday in February with artistic expressions, free health screenings, intellectual and fun events, special activities for children, opportunities for our students to apply their organizational and public relation skills, vending opportunities for small merchants, and some of the best entertainment and food found anywhere. I invite you to support the Harambee Festival s attempt to make the 30th anniversary even more special and meaningful while simultaneously securing its financial sustainability. Please find in this document the levels of sponsorship opportunity that are available ranging from the Pearl which assures naming rights for all of the weekend programs to the Distinguished Categories. The College welcomes your support as some of it will be used to endow the Harambee Festival Endowed Scholarship to assist future students to pursue a college education at Benedict. I look forward to your support and seeing you at the Harambee th Anniversary Reunion Weekend Celebration on February 22-24, 2019 and enjoy# TheBESTof BC! Sincerely, Roslyn C. Artis, J.D., Ed.D. President and CEO
3 M E S S A G E F R O M O U R F O U N D E R Dear Sponsors and Supporters of the Harambee Festival: I am pleased to invite you to be a part of an exciting weekend in the history of Benedict College. We have served our community, state, and nation with distinction since its founding in During the weekend of February 22-24, 2019, the legacy continues as Benedict College proudly celebrates the Harambee t h ( Pearl) Anniversary Weekend Reunion Celebration. For thirty years, this festival has been recognized as the signature event in the Columbia and wider communities to culminate Black History Month. It has done so through history, the arts, culture, outstanding performances, a Children s Village, free health screenings, and a host of other event components. Over this thirty-year period, thousands of dedicated people have labored to sustain and present this festival year after year. The Benedict family and this community have done so much for this Festival and i t is only fitting that on its 30th Anniversary the Festival recognizes and says thank you to so many unsung heroes and heroines. I invite you to be a sponsor of the Harambee th Anniversary Weekend Reunion Celebration by accepting one of the sponsorship levels listed in this package. Sincerely, George A. Devlin Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs And Chair, the Black History, and Culture Commemoration Committee
