The Holistic Perspective Mind Over Matter With Steven Horne August 7, 2018 What is Real? This world in which we exist seems very solid and real People who don t want to believe in things beyond what we can perceive with our senses often tell us to get real or be realistic This is the natural or physical world, but is there a supernatural or metaphysical world or reality beyond that which we can perceive? Think of all the vibrations that exist where you are right now TV broadcasts Commercial radio broadcasts Two way radio (ham radio, police and fire radio) Cell phone conversations Internet data transfer These are all present, where you are, right now We Live in a Sea of Vibrations Your senses limit what you can perceive The Electromagnetic Spectrum Just as a radio or TV tunes into one station or frequency at a time, your senses are tuned to specific vibrations, but not to others If your senses were reconfigured to perceive other frequencies, what would you observe? 1
What If? Atoms We can hear several octaves of sound vibrations, but we can only see one one octave of light What if we could see three octaves of light (infrared and ultraviolet) as well? What if you could hear light and see sound? Atoms were at one time thought to be the smallest particles of matter In other words, it was thought that the universe was made up of tiny particles called atoms The discovery of subatomic particles revealed that atoms were actually made of even smaller particles Molecules are Mostly Empty Space A hydrogen atom is about % empty space So, if a hydrogen atom were the size of the earth, the proton would be about 200 meters (600 feet) across In other words, there is really almost nothing there Subatomic Particles Atoms are made of electrons, protons and neutrons (subatomic particles) Quantum physics suggests there are more subatomic particles like: Fermions Quarks Leptons Bosons And others Vibrations Vibration or Energy Quantum physics suggests that subatomic particles are nothing more than three dimensional ripples in the fabric of space and time In other words they are simply standing waves that blink in and out of existence Many spiritual traditions hold the idea that the universe was spoken or sung into existence 2
Matter as Frozen Light The new physics tells us that matter may actually be nothing more than a series of patterns out of focus and that subatomic "particles" aren't really made of energy, but simply are energy! The subatomic world of electrons, protons, and neutrons may thus be viewed as patterns of vibration within what Rupert Sheidrake calls a morphogenetic field, an organizing field that underlies a system's structure. In addition, according to new scientific thought, all matter and we our-selves consist of forms of light. In his book Vibrational Medicine, physician Richard Gerber actually describes all matter as "frozen light," light which has been slowed down and become solid. Quantum Physics: Sensing Unbroken Wholeness by Judith Bluestone Polich ( Everything is Made of Light As the noted physicist David Bohm said, All matter is frozen light. Everything that that looks solid is actually made of this invisible energy that we call light. We are light, not in some spiritual sense, in a real sense we are made of light. Everything we consume is also light in a solidified form. Jacob Liberman ( a-insight/all-matter-frozen-light) Quantum Leaps A quantum leap is a leap from point A to point B, without passing through any of the points in between. Subatomic particles appear to leap from one position to another without passing through the space between In other words, they disappear at one point and then reappear in another position Is the Universe Digital? Computers store everything (text, images, videos, programs) in a digital format 0 or 1, on or off Images are composed of pixels (singular squares) that blend together Our mind fills in the gaps in video, too The universe may also be digital, composed of pixels (particles) so small we can only conceive of their existence The Off State In between the quantum leap is a brief interlude in which the subatomic particle doesn t exist at all (at least not in any way we can observe) If you think of this like waves in water, you see the wave rise, it then falls and for a moment the surface of the water is still The stillness is the off state, which I call the state of equilibrium in my threefold model What is Space? Quantum physics proposes that space is an unbroken fabric of something It is not nothing, it is something It is: whole, unbroken, without parts totally interconnected, present everywhere 3
The Universe is One The Nobel Prize winning physicist David Bohm has written about what he calls the implicate order of the holographic universe. This concept suggests that the entire universe is an ever-changing cosmic hologram that is layered with information Moreover, Bohm's work in quantum physics suggests that at the subatomic level all points in space are essentially the same, and therefore nothing is actually separate from anything else. This property is called non-locality. Bell's Theorem, developed a few years later by J. S. Bell, a Swiss physicist, provided mathematical proof of non-locality. What these concepts tell us is that, at the heart of our universe, there are no separate parts to anything, and that everything is connected to everything else. Quantum Physics: Sensing Unbroken Wholeness by Judith Bluestone Polich ( Paul s Speech on Mars Hill in Athens The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things; and He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their habitation, that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us; for in Him we live and move and exist, as even some of your own poets have said, For we also are His children. Acts 17:24-28 (NASB) Thought and Vibration Your mind both sends and receives vibrations (thoughts) You tune into the frequencies you will listen to You broadcast the frequencies you dwell on Properly trained, the mind can change the vibrations of matter itself Faster than Light Einstein said that nothing could travel faster than the speed of light But, what if there are frequencies that move faster than light Perhaps what we call spirit and thought are vibrations that travel at rates to fast to be detected with physical instruments Thoughts are Things by Henry van Dyke I hold it true that thoughts are things; They re endowed with bodies and breath and wings; And that we send them forth to fill The world with good results, or ill. That which we call our secret thought Speeds forth to earth s remotest spot, Leaving its blessings or its woes Like tracks behind it as it goes. We build our future, thought by thought, For good or ill, yet know it not. Yet, so the universe was wrought. Thought is another name for fate; Choose, then, thy destiny and wait. For love brings love and hate brings hate. Napoleon Hill on the Mind and Vibrations 4
Points to Ponder How real is the physical world (really)? What vibrations are you transmitting from your mind and heart? Are these vibrations shaping your physical experience in the material world? Can we alter the world through our thoughts? Does mind really transcend matter?
